Thank you fellow Candy Crush addicts....

Yes, you read right.

Today I am thankful for all of those candy crush addicts who blog about how they crushed all the candy on level such and such....

I am not talking about the you tube video posters...

Those do nothing for me.

I want to thank those who actually post useful hints.

Like this one, that is really useful...

If you start out with a bad board,  you can exit the board without losing a life if you have not made any moves.
It extends my playing time by letting me choose to not waste a life on a loser board...

Be warned, it only works on to mobile devices, though; I lost several lives trying to get it to work on my pc...

I would personally thank all the candy crush bloggers, but there are way too many to list...

I also want you to know that I am even more thankful for all my FB friends who send me love in the guise of candy crush lives and extra moves....again, too many to list, but you know who you are:)

Damn you autocorrect!!!

You gotta love autocorrect - NOT!

I was texting a friend this morning and intended to ask how her grandbaby was doing...

Somehow "grandbaby" was autocorrected to "transient".

Today I am thankful that I had enough caffeine in me to catch that lil goof before I hit send!

Smart what?

What did I do before I started using a Smartphone?

I have to admit, I did not get my first Smartphone until last year...

After all my kids had smart phones...

After most everyone I know had a smart phone - ok, not quite.

Up until a year before that, I was happy with my phone that just made phone calls.

What else do you need a phone for?

Up until about three years ago I had a contract with Verizon.  It was a 2-yr contract  that turned into a ten year contract because my youngest would upgrade to a new phone every chance he got.  Verizon let me out of that contract because my condo ended up in a dead zone when they moved some of their towers...

So I became a Virgin (Mobile) customer. I told the kids they were on their own.  I got a pay as you go plan that gave me 300 minutes talk time and unlimited texting for $25 a month.  So, needless to say, I took up texting.  I do not need a Smart Phone, but I will take a texter.

Then, last year, I found myself with a new boss at work.  My new boss insisted that we all have company phones.  he may need to get in touch with us when we are out of the office.

So I got a company phone on the company plan.  A Smart Phone.

Witth Email (personal and work accounts).

With synced calendars (office and personal).

With Lync chat.

With Google...

With Kindle apps and pedometer apps and music apps (that I have added)...

With games - like Candy Crush and Free Cell Solitaire...

With GPS and navigation apps...

With Facebook...

With a camera (a pretty decent one at that)...

So, on this November 7th, I am thankful for my Smartphone, for my boss that inisisted that I get it, and for my company for footing the bill:)

I am thankful that I can play Candy Crush on two devices.

I am thankful that I can check Facebook and my personal email accounts from my phone rather than blatantly displaying them on my work computer screen...

Walk at lunchtime????

As you may know, I have been trying to walk 3 miles every day to try to get in shape to walk a 5 K in December in a decent amount of time...

Co-workers have mentioned that I should walk at lunchtime since it is dark in the morning and dark in the evenings by the time I get home after work.

Well, I do not think anyone that I work with would appreciate me walking at lunchtime.

As I mentioned before, I am out of shape.

And I am a sweater (not the piece of clothing you might wear).

Noone would want to be within 100 yards of me after a lunchtime walk.

Granted, the facility I work in does have a fitness center with shower.  But that would extend my lunchtime way past the typical hour.

And I do not want to spend any more time at the office than I do now...

But, I am thankful, on this 6th day of  November, that I have a boss who let's me work from home a day or two each week.

I get so much more done when I work from home.

And, I can use my lunchtime for my daily walk.

And deal with the after effects all by my lonesome...

And for the record, I have cut 5 minutes from my 5 K walk time since I started timing myself 10 days ago.

Yay me:)

Thank you for No Shave November...

Today I am thankful that society has designated this month as "No Shave" - my legs need a chance to recover from the razor burns continually bestowed upon them.  I also need a break from having to take extra time in the shower for this activity.

I should be getting into work a half hour earlier each day in November - not because it takes me a half hour to shave my legs, but because the few minutes it does take puts me on the road just past the cut-off for missing rush hour traffic.

In my opinion, the rest of the world should be thankful that November is the designated No Shave month.  June, July, or August no shaves would probably be a little harder on the eyes of the beholders.  But if the designated month ever changes, close your eyes and count me in.

I will be stocking up on razors around Thanksgiving (thanks to my Italian heritage).

I am not really looking forward to December.

Go Browns!

On this Thankful November 4th,  I am grateful that the Cleveland Browns defeated the Baltimore Ravens yesterday (for the first time since 2007)...

This is a double win in my opinion.

The Browns win is good for Cleveland Fans' morale and keeps their playoff hopes alive -  barely...

And a win against Baltimore, in my humble opinion, is even better than a win  against Shittsburg.

Yeah, I can hold a grudge for a  few decades - even though logic tells me that Art Modell is no longer  a driving force behind that team.

Thank you Jason Campbell for some good leadership.

Thank you Bess for talking to someone (?) and looking yourself in the mirror and taking responibility for dropping the ball (several times) last weekend; but mostly, thank you for holding onto the ball this weekend and actually carrying it with you into the end zone...

But the game ball goes to the defense.  Thank you Haden and company for the sacks and  turnovers and interception and just holding  the line....

Thank you team for a fun game to watch with my Dad on Sunday afternoon.

30 Days of Thankfulness...

I am off to a slow start here, so I have some catching up to do....

On November 1, I was thankful that the rain kept many trick or treaters indoors the night before.  I have lots of leftover candy to satisfy my chocoholic cravings.

Yesterday, November 2, I was thankful that I could make myself walk 3.45 miles even tho it was raining.  I had skipped walking on Halloween (there were better things to do) and walked only 1 mile on Friday (I was feeling like crap - or so I told myself).   As soon as I am done with the post, I plan to walk 3 miles (my daily goal).  We'll see....

Today I am thankful for the technology that allowed me to know what time it really was when I woke up this morning without out having to figure out if I needed to add or subtract and hour. My smart phone is that..Smart:)  The only clock I need to set is the one in my car, though I bet my GPS gets it right without any help. And I know I probably should have at least one traditional clock  somewhere in my apartment, but I don't.  I am not a "I need to know what time it is" kind of person. If I need to know, I can always look at my phone or my computer....At least they will not lie to me because I forgot to set their clocks back or spring them forward on the appropriate weekend.

I am thankful  for so much in my life that it is hard not to tell you about it all right now - dragging it out for 30 days is going to be tough.
